According to the tendering documentation, the project of the pedestrian-cycling bridge is a priority city project, arising from the globally adopted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the strategic orientation of the City of Belgrade as defined in “The Strategy of the Development of the City of Belgrade” and the “Plan of Sustainable Urban Mobility” of Belgrade and the “IME” project, which emphasizes sustainable urban mobility through an innovative and sustainable planning of the transport system.
– The aim of the realization of said pedestrian-cycling connection is to promote urban mobility and connect green and recreational zones of the city with others, primarily residential parts of the city, especially New Belgrade and Ada Ciganlija. The configuration of New Belgrade is suitable for the development of a pedestrian-cycling infrastructure and traffic, and the planned connection aims to connect the Srem coast with green and recreational surfaces on Ada Ciganlija. Aside from its recreational purpose, the increase of the pedestrian-cycling infrastructure contributes to the availability of other features and services, as well as pedestrian movements, as well as a reduction of the pressure of motor vehicles on Ada Ciganlija on the Cukarica side, which will contribute to a reduction of carbon-dioxide emissions, an increase in air quality and environmental protection and a sustainable development of the urban structure – the documentation points out.

As specified, the area covered by the plan is around 4.8 hectares and the plan is “to fit the bridge into the unique context of the Sava river water surface, the natural values of Ada Ciganlija and the coastal wharf of the New Belgrade blocks.”
The estimated value of the procurement without the VAT is RSD 125,000,000, and the deadline for the submission of bids is December 8 at 1 PM.

Let us remind that, about a year ago, the Secretariat for Urban Planning and Construction Affairs of the City of Belgrade put the Draft Detailed Regulation Plan for the Construction of a Pedestrian-Cycling Connection Between Omladinskih Brigada Street and Ada Ciganlija with a Bridge on the Sava up for early public inspection. The documentation of the plan showed two options for the future bridge.
