The project of the reconstruction of the existing Karadjordje Stadium in Novi Sad has been completed, and the guiding idea in the reconstruction process, according to DBA Architects, which prepared this project, was the desire to honor the request of the expert organs of the Football Association of Serbia and the recommendations of the UEFA inspectors, who are in charge of controlling the stadium infrastructure of the clubs which license their facilities for matches in European club tournaments.

– The reconstruction of the stadium is the intermediary step in the efforts to have Novi Sad get a whole new, modern stadium, exclusively for football, without a running track – they say at DBA Architects.

The preparation of the project of a new stadium is in progress, and its realization is conditioned on the solving of certain property issues and completing the funding. Guided by the wish to have football played in Novi Sad by then, the decision was made to make minimal steps in order for the existing stadium to meet the necessary standards, they point out at DBA Architects.

– During July, FK Vojvodina and the architects working on the project had the opportunity to host the heads of the UEFA technical sector, with whom we exchanged the experiences and opinions regarding the necessary interventions on the reconstruction of the existing facility. Last week, another video meeting was held, where the solutions were presented and support and consent for the key details and ideas were obtained – they point out at DBA Architects.

The project is now entering the procedural activities for obtaining the building permit, and we are also a step closer to the planned beginning of works, they specify.

The reconstruction encompasses a whole new organization of the western stand with a media sector, which has been missing so far. Also, the forming of the club’s museum will connect the VIP part and the media sector. The whole new organization of the VIP part will allow, for the first time, for the forming premium sky boxes for corporate purpose, as well as two levels of central lodges. With these features, the stadium will definitely have the best hospitality system in the country.

The aim was to form a wholly independent functional structure with several different spaces which can function even when there are no football matches, with an independent kitchen, special accesses and side spaces. With a new system of ticket sales, access control, a new system of the seating organization on the western stand, as well as, for the first time properly, set up toilets and f/b services, we are getting more comfort and safety for the spectators, they explain at DBA Architects.

The UEFA conditions are very strictly defined, and each project is the sublimation of extensive literature, experiences and recommendations, they emphasize at DBA Architects.
