The workers emphasized that, if the obligations from the agreement are not fulfilled by December 1 or if there is any retaliation against those who have participated in the work stoppage, they will stop their work once again and this time take to the streets, according to the announcement by Sloga.
The work suspension by the dissatisfied workers of the Post of Serbia began on October 24 with demands for an increase in the number of workers, an increase in wages by at least 30%, an end to discrimination against employees, and official guarantees from the Government of Serbia for the fulfillment of these demands.
On November 15, the Government of Serbia signed an agreement with the representative unions, agreeing to pay one-time aid to all workers, except management, until November 25, and promising a 10 percent salary increase starting from November 1, with an additional increase from January 1, 2024. An increase of salaries was also agreed for administration employees, again except for management, by 10 percent, starting from January 1, 2024.
