Fair of Ethnic Food and Drinks 2023 in Belgrade from November 30 through December 3

The Fair of Ethnic Food and Drinks 2023, the biggest gathering of producers of traditional food products in Serbia and Southeast Europe, will be held at the Belgrade Fair from November 30 through December 3.

The event will gather over 300 exhibitors, and in addition to promotion and retail, the aim is to make deals and arrangements with the customers – restaurants, hotels, retail chains and exporters, to find potential investors in production, as well as to protect traditional products and recipes, to improve the food culture and health of the populace, to preserve the tradition and the national identity, points out Aleksandar Bogunovic, the secretary of the Association for Plant Production of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS).

He reminds that, through a range of joint activities with agricultural producers from the whole Serbia and cooperation with institutions and ministries, the CCIS contributes to the affirmation of traditional products as a remarkable market and exporting potential, but also an important element of the country’s tourism offer.

– In the past years, an increase in the number of products with a geographic origin designation has been recorded as well, which contributes to the improvement of the food culture and health of the populace, the preservation of the tradition and the cultural identity of Serbia – Bogunovic adds.

He points out that an entire stand at this year’s 17th Fair of Ethnic Food and Drinks will be dedicated to local products with the “Cuvarkuca” trademark, handed out by the CCIS as a confirmation of local origin and top quality, as part of the “Stvarano u Srbiji” project.

The visitors to the fair will be able to taste and buy specific, traditional and high-quality products from Serbia and its surrounding area.

Numerous traditional products will be presented at the fair, delicacies made from Leskovac ajvar and sprza, kulen from Backi Petrovac, pressed sausages from Pirot, craft beer made from 100% Serbian ingredients, the inevitable high-quality Serbian rakijas and numerous other quality products that we are known for, said Bogunovic.

Within the side program, a range of educational events and events dedicated to standardization, improvement of packaging, placement, but also the marketing and promotion of traditional food products, will be organized.


Producers of traditional food products and drinks which have registered production, producers of equipment for the production, keeping, packing and serving these products, the producers of planting materials, as well as houses which certify production, banks and insurance companies, will be present at the upcoming Fair of Ethnic Food and Drinks.

The fair is organized by the Belgrade Fair with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Serbia, the City of Belgrade, the CCIS, the Cooperative Union of Serbia and the Cooperative Union of Vojvodina.

The majority of the local participants are to present themselves at group stands, organized by region by the authorized institutions – the CCIS, the cooperative unions of Serbia, Vojvodina and Belgrade, the tourism organizations of certain regions, the local self-government, enterprise associations. Also, some exhibitors are to present themselves individually.

The previous fairs included producers from Serbia, Greece, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska, as well as the Russian Federation and Italy, the CCIS announced.
