Serbia to Get Modern Border Crossing with 6 Lanes Across HPP Djerdap 2 Dam – Tender Worth RSD 387 Million Published

The Property Directorate of the Republic of Serbia has opened the public procurement procedure for the works on the construction of the border crossing Kusjak, and the value of the job has been estimated at RSD 387 million, without the VAT.

The location of the border crossing is on the road across the dam of the main hydroenergy and navigation system Djerdap 2, on the 863rd kilometer of the Danube river near Prahovo. The border crossing Kusjak is defined as a road border crossing for international passenger and cargo traffic.

The border crossing is planned to feature two lanes for the inspection of passenger vehicles (entrance – exit) with a minimum width of 3.75 m, two lanes for the inspection of bus transport, with a minimum width of 4.25 m, and two lanes on the edges for the inspection of trucks for the transport of goods, with a minimum width of 4.25 m (which is not the subject of this procurement procedure), which should put the border crossing Kusjak in the category of medium border crossings by size, following the construction..

The plan includes the construction of: a control facility of the Ministry of Interior and the Customs Administration, with an area of 477 m2, as well as side features, control cabins, a space for the inspection of passenger vehicles and passport-customs control.

Let us remind that the reconstruction of the border crossing Kusjak was announced in January 2022, as part of the “package” of the reconstruction of nine border crossings.

Previously, a tender for the planning for that job had been published, and the companies Set Sabac, AG institut Novi Sad and BG Arh Beograd were selected as the designers of the border crossing Kusjak.
