After the document on the potential construction of a small nuclear reactor in the Zijin facility in Bor appeared on social networks, the Karanovic & Partners Law Firm, to which the document is addressed, says for eKapija that they did not send any such request to the Ministry of Mining and Energy.

– Therefore, we never received the answer that has appeared on social networks in the past days – the law office says.

The City Administration of Bor announced that they had contacted the Ministry of Mining and Energy and Serbia Zijin Copper.

– We got the response saying that the ministry had not given approval for the construction of a nuclear power plant, not just in Bor, but in the territory of the entire Republic of Serbia either. The response of the company is that it never considered the possibility of the construction of a modular reactor for the production of electrical and heating energy, but that it instead chose to build and use renewable energy sources – said the mayor of Bor, Aleksandar Milikic.
