Industrija Mesa Mitros in Sremska Mitrovica to Be Acquired by Hungarian Investment Fund? – Workers to Get Minimum Wage from City

All the workers of Mitros will be paid an amount equal to the minimum wage by the City of Sremska Mitrovica, stated the mayor, Svetlana Milovanovic. That is not a legal obligation, but the intention of the local self-government to help the workers overcome the problems with the functioning of the factory.

Let us remind that Gerlinger Group has withdrawn from the business, but now it is almost certain that the new owner of Mitros Sremska Mitrovica will be a Hungarian investment fund which recently adopted the final decision on the acquisition of Mitros.

– The Hungarians process poultry and pork, and the plan is for the production at Mitros to be at the level of 5,000 tons of meat products a year. Until they take over the factory and start the production, the City of Sremska Mitrovica will help the employees in the form of a payment to those workers who apply for that kind of help – Milovanovic said.
