EPS: We Are Recovering from an Unprecedented Cyber Attack, Production and Supply Not Jeopardized

Elektroprivreda Srbije is recovering from an unprecedented cyber attack of the crypto type, which has in no way jeopardized the production or the supply of electrical energy, and all the activities of the trade of electrical energy, in compliance with the obligations, were carried out without a problem.

All the protective measures to the end of preserving the system and protecting data security have been taken. For security reasons, IT systems have been put out of function until the ICT experts are entirely sure that the virus has been eliminated. We are asking the users of the portal “Uvid u racun” to be patient, because the work of the portal has been affected due to the protective measures. The competent state organs have been notified of the cyber attack and are taking all the measures within their responsibility, EPS announced.

– Elektroprivreda Srbije is not an exception, because cyber attacks are happening with increasing frequency throughout Europe and the world. Recently, Holding Slovenske elektrane, the Slovenian power company, found itself in a similar situation.
