The construction of the campus at the Bio4 campus at Torlak will begin in three days, the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated yesterday, whereas the prime minister, Ana Brnabic, stated that the construction would be completed by the end of 2026.

– In a few days we are beginning the preparatory works on the Bio4 campus. It will gather 1,400 professors, researchers, 4,000 students, over 1,000 doctors of science and 300 of the most sophisticated laboratories – Brnabic said at the press conference at the Presidency of Serbia.

She said that the investment meant that they would invest much more in research and development of healthcare, “so that the most innovative, advanced and modern therapies would be developed right here, in the Republic of Serbia.”

– Each our citizen, each woman, each man, each child could get a personalized medicine, therapy, in order to protect, above all, the health of our people and extend their life expectancy in the best way possible – Brnabic pointed out.

According to her, within the Bio4 campus, they are already working on some innovative therapies based on that platform of the Bio4 campus.

– So, the Swiss company Swiss Rocket, with our INEP, the Institute for the Application of Nuclear Energy, is already working on the most innovative therapy for the treatment of multiple sclerosis. That’s something that doesn’t exist in Europe at this moment, which we are beginning to develop in the Republic of Serbia, within the Bio4 campus – said Brnabic.

She pointed out that it was extremely important to invest in artificial intelligence, which could help the economy, healthcare, but also Serbia’s energy sector, in the best way possible.

– It is my pleasure to see that our science institutes are more and more active, so at this point, we have the Institute for the Development of Artificial Intelligence which operates shoulder to shoulder with the Institute for Oncology and Radiology in Serbia – said Brnabic.
