Construction of Mokrin-Belgrade Gas Pipeline Planned

The plan is to build the gas pipeline Mokrin (Kikinda)-Belgrade, but we will also have to expand our gas capacities, the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, announced during yesterday’s address.

Vucic pointed out that citizens consumed a lot of gas, between 12 and 13 million cubic meters, whereas the storage sites held a total of 612 million cubic meters of gas.

As he added, the plan is to also establish gas routes south of Zlatibor and Uzice, as well as to build an interconnection toward North Macedonia.

Vucic said that the Kostolac Thermal Power Plant would provide additional stability in electricity supply and that the completion was expected for the end of March or the beginning of April.

He added that there were oil reserves for 85 days at that point and said that Serbia needed to build an oil pipeline toward Hungary as fast as possible.

“Fast route to Pozarevac in several months”

He also announced that the fast route to Pozarevac would be completed several months later and that they would continue toward Gradiste and Golubac. He also announced a ring road around Kragujevac, and the one to Pozega is also being completed, leading to the opening of two corridors, one toward Montenegro, through Ivanjica and Sjenica, and one toward Prijepolje.

There are also construction activities from Pozega to Kotroman and Visegrad, and the construction is to start in 2025, Vucic said.

He also announced EUR 2 billion for local and regional roads.
