State to Commission Preparation of Strategy of Management of Mineral and Other Geological Resources from 2025 until 2040, with Projection until 2050

The Ministry of Mining and Energy has published the tender for the preparation and adoption of the Strategy of the Management of the Mineral and Other Geological Resources of the Republic of Serbia. The value of this service is estimated at RSD 20.8 million.

The strategy proposition should pertain to the period from 2025 until 2040, with a projection until 2050, and along with the strategy, it is also necessary to prepare the Action Plan for the realization of the Strategy (with the Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment).

– The Strategy will define the measures and activities which will be taken for the purpose of achieving strategic long-term goals in the field of geological research and the valorization of all types of resources and reserves of minerals and other geological resources, determining the hydrogeological and engineering-geological-geotechnical conditions of the use of the geological environment in the procedure of the planning, designing and construction of all types of facilities – the tender says.

The future document should define the existing state, the general and special goals of the development of the mining sector, as well as the measures which will contribute to the realization of the goals.

Among other things, the strategy needs to determine the degree to which the territory of the Republic of Serbia is explored, analyze the needs and projections of basic geological explorations, as well as the impact of the exploitation of mineral resources, and offer environmental protection guidelines.

The bidder will be given a year for the preparation of the draft strategy.
