Terminal in Sabac Gets Operator – Line Boat Traffic Between Sabac, Sremska Mitrovica and Belgrade Planned

The Port Governance Agency has signed the agreement on the performing of port activities with the company GEO-PROJEKT SM doo, whereby this legal person has become the operator on the international passenger terminal in Sabac.

The agreement was signed for a period of ten years, and the obligations of the operator envisage investments in the maintenance of the port infrastructure and the access waterway, according to the Agency’s website.

The Agency has realized the investment in the construction of the infrastructure of the international passenger terminal in Sabac, which was opened in December last year.

Sabac is one of the locations encompassed by the “Sail Serbia” project. The aim of the project is to build the missing nautical infrastructure: marinas, terminals and floats for canal and line traffic, as well as to raise the public awareness of the advantages of nautics for the promotion of the country and the increase of the income.

The opening of the terminal in Sabac makes the infrastructure for cruising on the river Sava complete.

The Agency has also announced that, in the coming period, they will work on establishing line boat traffic, which will connect Sabac, Sremska Mitrovica and Belgrade.
