Continental Plans New Investment of at Least EUR 150 Million and Employment of Another 1,500 Workers

Only a year after the opening of Continental in Novi Sad, which employs 1,900 workers, a new investment by Continental, of at least EUR 150 million, is planned, as is the employment of another 1,500 workers, announced the mayor of Novi Sad, Milan Djuric. That Continental is planning a further expansion of its operations and investments in Novi Sad was also indicated by Djuric’s announcement regarding this topic from about a month ago, but at the time, he didn’t specify the investment amount or the number of new jobs and just said that, next to the already built factory, Continental had bought additional land for the purpose of a future planned expansion.

On his Instagram account, talking about Continental, Djuric also said that our engineers from Continental’s research and development center in Novi Sad had developed an autonomous truck, which is controlled without a driver and has Level 4 autonomy.

– Our researchers are part of the international team of this global company, which has worked on developing this solution. This innovation is a confirmation that Novi Sad is playing a key role in the future of the automotive industry. Novi Sad is constantly developing, employing new workers and achieving technological innovations which will position us as leaders in this increasingly important sector – pointed out Djuric.
