As many as six solar power plants should be built this year in the territory of Sabac, its agrarian part – the farm properties in villages in the Macva and Cer rural areas. The procedure was initiated before the city administration by three private companies from Sabac and Sremska Mitrovica and one natural person from Belgrade. These are mostly recently registered companies, which indicates that a new type of business is rapidly developing in this traditionally agricultural area.

In the village of Drenovac in Macva, around ten kilometers from the city center, the Sabac-based company Solargrim plans to build the solar power plant Drenovac 2 of 2.4 MW and substations. The photovoltaic panels, installed in a row, are to be connected to 24 inverters with a nominal power of 100 kW, and they are to be connected by underground cables with the low-voltage block in the substation, where the voltage is to be converted from 400 kV to 20 kV.

Solargrim is a new company, founded with a special purpose in September last year for the production of electrical energy, and the power plant, according to the documentation that was submitted by the architectural studio Koncept from Sabac, which prepared the project, will be built on two agricultural parcels – 2nd- and 3rd-class farms and a 2nd-class orchard, with a total area of 2.5 hectares, which are privately owned. The location also has direct access to the IIA-grade state road Sremska Mitrovica-Sabac.

The same architectural studio is also preparing the documentation for the Sabac-based company Vemi Biogas, which intends to build two solar power plants – Vemi San 1 and Vemi San 2, in the territory of the neighboring village of Sevarice. Vemi Biogas is also a micro-company, which was registered in 2019, and for a while, over a 14-month period, its co-owner was the Cypriot company Sandico Investments, which was then replaced by a local natural person.

In the farming area of the Macva village of Tabanovic, the company Gea Solar Plant 1 from Sremska Mitrovica is planning a solar power plant of 3 MW. On 3.2 hectares of (mostly) agricultural land, 60 inverters with a power of 50 kW each will be installed. Within the power plant, the plan is to build substations with a switchgear and connection spots. Two cable lines of 20 kV will need to be installed, which will connect the power plant with the power distribution system.

Geo Solar Plant 1 was founded in June last year by another company from Sremska Mitrovica, Green Energy Art, co-owned by the Russian citizens Artem Karachev (51%) and Vladislav Rykov (49%). The two cadaster parcels on which the construction is planned are currently categorized as farms (3rd category), and both are owned by this investor. The urban project was prepared by the Sabac-based company Set.

The construction of another two solar power plants, as the Politika daily learns, is planned in the area of the Cer village of Varna, ten kilometers south of the city. The investor is a natural person from Belgrade, and the planner is Investment Projekt from Sabac.
