Zajecar, a city in which the economy went down a long time ago and a city which, although it hasn’t had any soccer successes for decades, recently got a modern soccer stadium in Kraljevica, could also get the Roman Emperors’ Park in the near future in that same Kraljevica.

The mayor of Zajecar, Bosko Nicic, received the certificate for the preparation of the project-technical documentation of the “Roman Emperors” project. The preparation of the documentation for this thematic park, according to the city’s website, includes the setting up of statues of 17 Roman emperors, along with the construction of footpaths, fountains and green areas. The value of the project-technical documentation is EUR 95,496, whereas the participation of the city of Zajecar is EUR 19,099.

– For a long time now, we have been planning to develop the space beneath Kraljevica. That complex, along with the new stadium, will be a true tourism pearl. The Emperors’ Park will round out the story of Kraljevica and it will all, to a great extent, lead to an increase in the number of tourists in Zajecar and Timocka Krajina – the mayor of Zajecar believes.

The certificate for the preparation of the documentation was handed over in Kraljevo, where the ceremony on the occasion of the awarding of new grants for local development in 20 towns and municipalities in Serbia was held. The ceremony was attended by the EU ambassador to Serbia, Emanuele Giaufret, and the minister for European integration, Tanja Miscevic.

Unlike the stadium, the construction of this thematic park in Zajecar has some basis, considering that the Felix Romuliana archaeological site, which has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is located in Gamzigrad, not far from the city.
