At the end of this year, the state will allocate frequency bands for the 5G network, and by 2027, nearly the whole territory of Serbia will be covered by the 5G network, said the CEO of Telekom Srbija, Vladimir Lucic. He added that Telekom, together with Vodafon as the strategic partner “is looking which services to implement.”

– We are ready for the development of 5G, because we already have a certain number of 5G base stations from Ericsson and Nokia, because we took a certain number of base stations featuring that new technology and we are now only waiting to get the frequency band and switch 5G on – Lucic said for TV Prva.

He reminds that it has been announced that, at EXPO 2027, it will be possible to ride in automated vehicles.

– That requires a very good 5G network and road sensor coverage. Then, the vehicle runs on its own, based on artificial intelligence and communication with sensors through 5G – he said.
