The national pavilion of Serbia for EXPO 2027 will be presented in a month at the latest, announced the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic. He said on RTS that “it will be marvelous and the pride of every citizen of our country.”

Vucic announced that, in addition to the national stadium and the aquatic center, three thematical parks would also be built and added that there were talks with Legoland about the construction of entertainment parks – such as Disneyland.

There are also water parks, he added, as well as the construction of docking terminals on the Sava.

– Which is where cruise ships will be able to dock. When the passengers disembark, they will ride in autonomous vehicles, so, driverless vehicles. Throughout the Expo, these are hundreds and hundreds of hectares where they will be able to ride, in every way possible. We will also try to solve the issue of equestrian sports there. We will have two golf courses with 18 holes, as the professional expression goes. So, this will additionally attract foreigners and big investors, as well as big consumers, to our city – said Vucic.

He also said that the tender for the first hotel with 400 rooms had been prepared.

– Another hotel will follow, and then the whole thing will be expanded, so as to be able to cover those thematic parks as well – added Vucic.

Talking about the economic questions, Vucic said that the cooperation with China was growing too.

– It is at USD 6.1 billion at the moment, and in the past 10 years, our exports have increased 140 times – not 140%, 140 times. You can see, then, how important it is for us and our country – Vucic estimates.

Vucic stated that, thanks to the cooperation with Beijing, Serbia had gained a lot and that one of those things was the direct airline to Tianjin and emphasized that Serbia would also get another line, to Shanghai, but also that a third one was being planned, connecting Belgrade and Guangzhou.

Talking about the visit of the Chinese president Xi Jinping, Vucic said that there would be two or three things Serbia would ask and that one of them was for a train and locomotive factory to be opened in Serbia.

– I will ask president Xi, because there are no more trains in Europe either, whether we can open locomotive factories, train factories, again. In a strategic sense, we would gain a lot from that – Vucic said and reminded that Serbia had had train factories in Smederevska Palanka and Kraljevo and that it still had experts in that field.

Vucic said that he would ask the Chinese president to look into the possibilities regarding electric cars, flying cars, taxis and whether a Chinese company could come and invest in Serbia somewhere where artificial intelligence and modern technology merged.
