And did you know that you can contribute to this yourself, as individuals? All thanks to the company Vetroing, a member of the Science and Technology Park in Cacak, whose product is a modular vertical wind generator. It is essentially a vertical, expandable windmill.
- Users are given the option to personalize their windmill. They can choose how many segments it will consist of and thus affect the amount of electricity produced. They can select which additional modules to use. Those modules are: module for automatic braking, start assistance, information system, meteorological station. By expanding it with additional modules or functionalities, we enable users to better manage the windmill and acquire useful data about its operation and condition - Nenad Milic, director of the Vetroing company, tells eKapija.
You can place this windmill almost anywhere. There should be no physical obstacles which would hinder the flow of air and the operation of the windmill, says Mr. Milic and explains:
- First of all, a stable base is needed, it can be a concrete base, e.g. the roof of a building. Of course, we would assess the terrain before installing the windmill, to ensure that it has the most optimal conditions for operation.
The device does not generate noise, and the use of low-power wind of at least 1 m/s is made possible through use of the state-of-the-art generator with permanent core-less magnets and thanks to the specially designed "wings". It is therefore possible to install it in urban conditions for smaller urban consumers, where the wind is weaker and more turbulent.
As Mr. Milic says, the company's current goal is to establish itself on the Serbian market as an entirely domestic ecological product, and afterwards try it out on the foreign market, primarily in France.
- In addition to the windmill itself, we also offer additional modules that could be sold independently. In the future, we would expand those additional modules and product catalog - reveals our interlocutor.
As an electronics engineer with many years of experience and a creative innovator, Mr. Milic returned to Serbia after a rich work experience in France. He says that awareness of the use of wind as energy source is more developed in France, primarily due to campaigns on the use of renewable energy sources and the role of small consumers.
- This awareness is slowly starting to develop in our country, through education, but we can also see various incentives from banks and state institutions - he says.
