Agreement of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina on investments in rail corridor to be signed in coming days

The second day of the Sarajevo Business Forum began with the introductory speech by the minister of communications and transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto. He pointed out that the rail infrastructure and the connectedness for a sustainable future were the key initiatives and projects of the improvement of the rail transport sector in BiH.

– We are now at the very peak of investments in highways, the corridor is being completed, some parts will be rebuilt and brought to completion. What is next? Without any doubt, it’s the railroads. That can entirely transform the economy of BiH. In the coming days, we will sign an international agreement with Serbia on joint investments in the rail corridor, which will be the first such agreement of the integration of the region which has been stagnating for a long time. The rail sector is the next big investment cycle in BiH – Forto said in his introductory speech.
