During the Business Forum of Italy and Serbia in Trieste, several interstate agreements and contracts were signed, but also contracts between Italian groups and Serbian companies. Among them are contracts about the new borrowing of Telekom Srbija and Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS).

The Italian news agency Agenzia nova writes that the Italian insurance finance institution SACE signed two financial agreements, with a total value of EUR 400 million, for the development of Italian exports to Serbia.

– The first agreement pertains to a financial line of EUR 200 million for which SACE guarantees to the benefit of the Ministry of Finance of Serbia, and which aims to support the development plans of Serbia and strengthen the commercial relations in the sectors of transport, tourism, telecommunications, energy and ICT sector, with the aim of facilitating access to the Serbian market for Italian companies – the Italian agency writes.

Another agreement, as said, was signed with Telekom Srbija.

– The agreement with Telekom Srbija envisages a financing of up to EUR 200 million for which SACE guarantees – for the strengthening of the commercial relations with Italian exporters active in ICT services, commercial distribution and purchase and sales of television rights – writes Agenzia nova.

When it comes to EPS, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) guarantees a loan of EUR 100 million for EPS.

– The CDP investment, in addition to the additional loan of 300 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and a loan of 100 million from the German development bank KfW, supports the efforts of Serbia toward decarbonization through the implementation (by EPS) of policies for the acceleration of the transition toward a sustainable system of power generation – the agency writes.

Also, the company Simest (which supports the growth of the Italian companies through the internationalization of their business) signed a memorandum with the Development Agency of Serbia (DAS) to the end of, as said – “the development and strengthening of the commercial relations of the two countries through a close synergy of the two institutions.”

Simest, as pointed out, will develop a double strategy directed at the consolidation of economic relations in the following fields: a subsidized financing of EUR 200 million and the opening – in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy and the Embassy of Italy in Serbia – Simest’s first foreign office in Belgrade, for the purpose of providing assistance to companies.
