The vice-governor of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS), Zeljko Jovic, stated today that the economic growth of Serbia in 2024 would be around 3.5% and that the economic growth in the next years was expected to be 4-5%. He added that the inflation rate in the preceding year had been dropping concluding with April 2024, when it reached 5%.

At the conference “The Risks of a New Age – A New Era of Sustainability”, organized by the platform Be Risk Protected, Jovic pointed out that the inflation would move within the target band at the end of 2024 and that the lowering of the price of food would contribute the most to its reduction.

Talking about the economic growth, he said that the investment cycle in Serbia had lasted uninterrupted since 2015.

– The share of investments is 23% of the gross domestic product (GDP), and we expect it to increase to 25% when the realization of the project related to the international specialized exhibition EXPO 2027, which is held in Belgrade, begins – said Jovic.
