Coffee price to increase from July 1

The price of coffee is likely to be higher in retail from July 1, Politika learns unofficially. So far, new price lists have been sent by Atlantic Grupa – for brands such as Grand and Doncafe – to wholesalers, and it is not yet known to what extent this will reflect on consumer prices.

At the same time, according to the daily’s research, certain popular coffee roasters which operate in the Belgrade market have already raised their prices. At one of them, yesterday it took around 15% more money to get a kilogram of quality coffee.

Unofficially, the price growth will not be insignificant, and some traders are even mentioning an amount of up to 50%. Still, the findings say that, although the prices of ingredients for the producers have grown 40-60%, the growth of the prices for the consumers – of the best-selling brands in the market will not grow nearly as much as speculated.
