Slovenians not to travel to Skopje for negotiations on distribution of money and gold of former SFRJ, subject of distribution worth 200 million USD
Distribution of 200 million USD worth of gold and foreign currency reserves of former National Bank of Yugoslavia was stopped, this time, by the Government and Central Bank of Slovenia not giving agreement to authorized negotiators to travel to Macedonia.
Skopje was supposed to be the host of final negotiations, which was supposed to be ended until March 17, between the authorized negotiators on distribution of gold and money of former NBJ. Slovenia is the second former republic of former SFRJ, next to Croatia that has not been ratified Agreement on Succession until recently, which obstructed distribution of gold and money.
According to the Agreement on Succession, which was signed in June 2001, Serbia should obtain 38% of total value of the money and gold of former NBJ. The money is kept in the banks of the Western countries, while the gold is stored in Zurich and Paris.
