Hungarians to prepare documentation for construction of Aquatic Center in Surcin? – Only one bid sent within tender (PHOTO)

At the tender for the preparation of urban planning-technical documentation for the needs of obtaining the location requirements for the construction of the Aquatic Center within the EXPO complex in Surcin, one bid was sent, by the Hungarian company Market Epito Zrt, headquartered in Budapest. The price that the Hungarians have offered is RSD 23.8 million without the VAT, which is slightly lower than the estimated value of the public procurement.

The Aquatic Center is a complex that is meant for training and international water sport tournaments, and the plan is for the facility to spread on an area of 10 hectares. The sports center will be built in line with the FINA standards for world water sports, and the seating capacity will be 4,000.



– The Aquatic Center is meant for both world and European tournaments, as well as for certain training processes. Considering that we are a nation that can be proud of the big success of our water sportsmen, the state is also obliged to secure the sports infrastructure for such events – says the head urban planner of the City of Belgrade, Marko Stojcic.

Let us remind that the Government of Serbia has founded the company called Privredno drustvo SPV Akvatik centar d.o.o. Beograd, for the purpose of the construction of a sports complex for water sports. The future sports center will be located within the National Stadium complex and the EXPO Center in Surcin.



The specialized exhibition EXPO 2027 BEOGRAD, with the theme “Play for Humanity”, will be held in the capital city from May 15 through August 15, 2027, and the construction of the Aquatic Center is envisaged in this project. The water sports center will be located in Surcin, near the National Football Stadium and the residential complex which are also being built within this project.
