The prime minister of Serbia, Milos Vucevic, has stated today that, if the German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, and representatives of the European Commission for energy come to Belgrade on Friday, the mining of lithium in Serbia will be discussed with them.

– I cannot confirm it, but I cannot deny it either at this moment whether the visit will take place, because visits at such a level require a final confirmation in the final 24 hours – Vucevic told the press while attending the beginning of the construction of apartments for refugees in Belgrade.

He pointed out that he would like the EU delegation to arrive to Belgrade and that a range of economic and political issues would certainly be discussed with the German representative.

– In order to keep talking about lithium, our condition is that there is no mining without raising factories and industrialization in that area where the mine would be, because it is a big environmental opportunity – said Vucevic.

He pointed out that, in all affairs carried out by the Government of Serbia, the economic and political interest of Serbia was clear.
