VGP, a leading European provider of high-quality logistics and light industrial real estate, will build the production facility. This is the Belgian company's first such investment in Croatia.
– It is a great honor for us to contribute to this revolutionary project. As part of the new 8-hectare VGP Park Zagreb business park, a production facility, warehouse, and office space will be built on 28,500 square meters as a ‘built-to-suit’ project for VERNE. This is another built-to-suite project in a series of similar projects that CBRE has been involved in over the past few years, which proves that these types of transactions are becoming an increasingly important part of the industrial real estate sector, along with warehouse leasing – said Sonja Lončarević, Associate Director, A&T Industrial & Logistics, at CBRE, who led this transaction.
With this successful transaction CBRE has solidified its dominant position in the Southeastern European (SEE) region as a frontrunner in major transactions. Last year, CBRE acted as exclusive advisor to Orbico Hrvatska, for their “Built-to-suit” distribution center in Zdenčina with 40,000 sqm in the first phase of the project. In the previous year, CBRE showcased its expertise by advising on the most significant private investment in Osijek over the past decade, involving the establishment of cutting-edge production facilities for an esteemed American electronics manufacturer. Additionally, CBRE also facilitated the lease acquisition of a state-of-the-art cold storage distribution center in Velika Gorica, specifically tailored to meet the requirements of the esteemed HAVI Group.
– This transaction is further proof that the SEE region, and Croatia in particular, is an ideal location for the industrial and logistics industry due to its strategic geographical position in Europe, skilled workforce, competitive operating costs and steadily growing economy – Lončarević added.
– The industrial and logistics real estate sector in Croatia has achieved significant growth, and this is a continuation of the record activity recorded in the previous two years, and we foresee a continuation of this trend in the future – said Božidar Gaćeša, Head of A&T Industrial & Logistics for the SEE region at CBRE.
