Privatization of Jugoslovensko Recno Brodarstvo relaunched – State looking for investors, initial price EUR 29.2 million

The Ministry of Economy of Serbia has opened the public call for participation in the procedure of the public collection of bids with public bidding for the purpose of the sale of the capital of Jugoslovensko Recno Brodarstvo AD Beograd (JRB). The initial price for the sale of the capital is EUR 29.2 million.

According to the ministry, eligible bidders are local legal persons that meet the qualification conditions, including a realized operating income of at least RSD 2 billion and having at least 15 registered cargo thrusters. The subject of the privatization has a total of 1,804,484 shares, of which 99.9831% are owned by the Republic of Serbia.

Bids may be submitted by August 13, and the bids will be opened a day later. More details (in Serbian) can be found HERE.


JRB has a long tradition of cargo transport on inland waterways. Their site says that the company belongs to the group of the five biggest shipping companies on the Danube, whereas, when it comes to international transport on inland waterways, it is by far the first in Serbia.

The main activity of JRB is cargo transport on inland waterways.

Since 2010, JRB has been owned by the state, following the termination of the contract on the sale of that company to the company EDDSG. According to the 2017 data, it employed over 300 workers.
