Belgrade will also get "ship-hotels" for the EXPO - Two locations planned on the Sava and one on the Danube; company wanted for a conceptual solution

The Port Management Agency has announced a tender for the preparation of a study with a conceptual solution for the placement of floating objects for the needs of EXPO Belgrade 2027. The value of the procurement is estimated at RSD 29.1 million.

The subject of the work of the selected bidder is the preparation of a Study with the conceptual concept of the disposition of floating objects, i.e. ship-hotels for the needs of additional accommodation capacities during the international specialized exhibition EXPO Belgrade 2027.

The bidder, in cooperation with the client, will choose three potential locations, two of which will be on the Sava River and one on the Danube River, with five mooring places in continuity, for the mooring of up to two hotel ships up to 135 m in length and up to 12 m in width.

The deadline for applying for the tender is September 4.

According to the EXPO 2027 Master Plan, more than 2.7 million individual visitors are expected to visit the exhibition.

Having that in mind, as per the tender documentation, besides the existing hotels and other available accommodations, it is necessary to provide additional accommodation facilities for all interested visitors.

- Based on the solutions applied during the organization of other events of a similar scale around the world, additional accommodation capacities of a temporary nature can be realized by stationing passenger ships intended for multi-day cruises, or other suitable floating objects that would in a period of 12 months (December 2026 - November 2027) serve the function of ship-hotels - it is stated.
