The Strategy for the Development of the Electronic Communications System until 2027 has been adopted

The Government of the Republic of Serbia has adopted the Strategy for the Development of the Electronic Communications System in the Republic of Serbia until 2027, which determines national priorities in planning the construction, installation and provision of public electronic communication networks and services of interest to the state and coordinates the activities of all the bearers of individual measures for the time period from 2024 to 2027.

This document emphasizes the improvement of electronic communication networks and connectivity, which includes inclusion and the possibility of accessing and using the digital content and services through broadband access, and supports the application of new advanced technologies, the Government announced.

An integral part of the document is the Action Plan for the implementation of the strategy, which defines concrete measures and activities in order to accomplish the set goals.

- These activities should contribute to improving the digital knowledge and skills of citizens, raising the capacity of employees in the public and private sector to use new technologies and improving the digital infrastructure in educational institutions, digitizing services and business in the public and private sector and improving the information security of citizens, public administration and economy - it was highlighted in the announcement.

The session also adopted the Regulation on establishing the Broadband Communication Infrastructure Development Program in rural and underdeveloped areas of Serbia for the period from 2024 to 2026. and other facilities of the republic and local government bodies, as well as approximately 152,000 households.

This way, citizens in rural areas, as stated by the Government, are given access to modern electronic services, and the economy, especially micro and small enterprises, can reach the same quality of services as enterprises in more developed areas.

The members of the Government adopted the Decree on the declaration of the landscape of exceptional features "Rajac", which ensures the preservation of exceptional landscape features, position in the region with ambient and ecological significance, symbols of the region in relation to historical significance and natural and cultural values, as well as the authenticity of the natural features contained in relief, geology and hydro-geology. This regulation defines the preservation of nature and natural values, the habitat of a potential NATURA 2000 area, as well as the effect of untouched preserved nature and the air spa.
