The Secretariat for Urban Planning and Construction Affairs of the City of Belgrade has put the Detailed Regulation Plan for the construction of heat pipes and power cables between the Ostruznica pre-pumping station and the Surcinsko Polje heat source for early public inspection.

The goal of creating a detailed regulation plan is a heat pipe solution that connects the heating areas of Novi Beograd and Surcinsko polje with TPP Nikola Tesla in Obrenovac.

This practically means that the plan is to bring hot water from the Obrenovac thermal power plant to Surcin, not just to Novi Beograd, as originally planned.

The plan calls for a corridor for the construction of heating pipes with a nominal diameter of 600, on a part of the territory of the city municipality of Surcin, on about 3.9 ha.

Within the limits of the plan, parallel to the heating pipes, medium voltage underground cable lines will be laid along the route for the power supply of PS Ostruznica.

- The construction of a hot water network for the purpose of connecting the planned heat source TI Surcinsko polje with the planned pre-pumping station PS Ostruznica on the route of the non-urban hot water pipeline, will give the possibility of using hot water for heating and cooling needs from the Nikola Tesla TPP for consumers at the site of the EXPO 2027 complex, as a reversible type of supply thermal energy - it is stated in the document.

The client for the development of the plan is PUK Beogradske elektrane, and the processor is the Urban Institute of Belgrade.

The plan is on early public review until August 19.

Let us remind you that last autumn, the mayor of Belgrade, Aleksandar Sapic, signed an annex to the contract on the construction project of the Obrenovac-Novi Beograd extraurban heating pipeline with the company Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina).

- The reasons why the thermal transmission line has not yet started and does not supply us with much thermal energy are irrelevant now. I believe that the conditions have now been met and that in two years Belgrade will finally receive what it has been waiting on for more than 30 years. We will not depend on others, we will have our own thermal energy, we will be directly connected to the power plant in Obrenovac. Only this way will we be able to heat more than half of Novi Beograd - Sapic said.

He stated that in January, work on EPS's facilities began, and that this company began preparing installations for this large and complex project. The Belgrade power plants will receive 600 megawatts of thermal energy from the Nikola Tesla TPP through a 60 km long pipe to Novi Beograd.

- We have already received a construction permit and we are preparing to build pipes over the Obrenovac Bridge - he said.

He then announced the possibility of connecting Surcin to the hot water pipeline.

- Considering that the thermal transmission line also passes by Surcin, and major works are coming up in that part of the city due to the construction of the fair, the stadium and the accompanying infrastructure, we can say that this municipality will also benefit from this method of heating - Sapic said.

Back in early July, a contract worth EUR 153 million was awarded to a consortium of 39 domestic companies for the construction of the future thermal source complex Surcinsko polje, planned as a facility for supplying heat and cooling energy to the facilities of the national stadium and the EXPO center in Surcin,
