Marking of 1,000 days to specialized exhibition EXPO 2027

EXPO Belgrade 2027 will be an event that will change not only Surcin and Belgrade, but also the whole of Serbia, and perhaps the entire region of the Western Balkans. which is hosting the EXPO exhibition for the first time, assessed the minister of science, technological development and innovation of Serbia, Jelena Begovic, at the opening of the exhibition on the Sava Promenade on the occasion of 1,000 days until the EXPO exhibition, which shows Serbia's 140-year-long participation in previous EXPO events.

Begovic said that Serbia's numerous participations in international exhibitions and all the experience and knowledge Serbia had gained as EXPO participants for the last 140 years, were the country’s great comparative advantage in the organization of EXPO Belgrade 2027, as announced on the website of the Government of Serbia.

– We have brought EXPO to the Balkans. As somebody who has fought for EXPO to come to Belgrade, I have to say that it’s a great honor and pleasure for me to be here with you today when we are marking 1,000 days to the specialized exhibition. Now we can truly commence the countdown – the minister said.

She reiterated that EXPO was Serbia’s huge development chance and an opportunity for the whole world to rank Serbia among attractive countries rich in smart, innovative, hospitable people, natural beauty, but also history and cultural heritage.

– Serbia will be a country of innovation, a country of music, sports and technology – Begovic pointed out.

According to her, the idea of EXPO always focuses on innovations and new technologies, from the first presentation of the phone, the first mobile network concept, the first computer, the first hybrid car.

– These are all technologies that have changed the world, but also technologies that have connected humanity – the minister emphasized and added that the arrival of representatives of 120 countries and a large number of international organizations was expected.

– Four million visitors are expected. This means that we will have a large number of ambassadors when the exhibition participants return to their countries and that we will have the whole world present in our country – Begovic said.
