Tunnel in municipality of Raca to be re-developed for storage of local products

The tunnel in Djurdjevo, in the municipality of Raca, built at the beginning of the 20th century, which has never been in use, will be re-developed for the storage of local products to the end of the tourist presentation of the municipality. As the municipal administration told the Beta agency, the urban project with the preliminary design of the adaptation and repurposing of the tunnel was prepared by the agency Taranovski Paracin.

The preparation of the project is financed by the Local Community of Djurdjevo with RSD 600,000.

According to the project, which has been confirmed by the municipal administration, in addition to the adaptation of the tunnel, the plan also includes the construction of a business facility, a guardhouse and a parking lot.

– The preparation for the procedure of obtaining the location requirements, in line with the urban project, is in progress, which is to be followed by the preparation of the project documentation – the municipality of Raca told the Beta news agency, as per a request for the availability of information of public importance.

The municipality of Raca is the owner of the parcel on which the aboveground structure – the tunnel, whose full length is around 342 meters, is located.

The tunnel has not been dug through to the other end, so there is no exit.

According to the prepared project, on the existing structure and the walls of the tunnel, the authentic hewn local stone will be kept.

At the main entrance, the plan is to form an entry portal made from solid wood with a double door, whereas a wall made from hollow clay blocks, covered with stone, will be built at the end of the structure.
