– Our goal is to break the hard stereotype that rakija is a male drink and to send the message that women have the full right to be what they are regardless of their choice of drink. The visual element like edible spangles adds a dose of glamor and fun, but doesn’t minimize the seriousness and quality of the product itself. Our target group are ladies who know how to enjoy quality rakija with style and measure. We believe that its appearance can attract young women, but it is not our goal to directly invite the young to consume alcohol – Tamara Milosevic says for eKapija.

As she says, for her, rakija is not just a drink – it is a deep-rooted part of our region’s non-material cultural heritage:
– In my family, the tradition of the production and consumption of rakija is transferred from generation to generation. Rakija has been present in important moments in life, whether as a remedy or a thread connecting people. Through “Prestizna”, we want to convey that kind of symbolism: a rakija with a legacy, but also elegance.
The Leskovac quince is the main factor when it comes to the quality of this “female rakija”. As our interviewee says, this variety is often grown in Backa and Srem, and it is the most present variety in the orchards of the family distillery.

– Due to both its suitability and its first-class taste, the quince was the right choice for our “Prestizna” – she adds.

– Since this is a quince rakija, it most frequently goes very well with stronger dishes, but we would recommend everyone to experiment and find a combination that suits their taste the most. And when they find the right recipe, they should make sure to let us know – says Tamara Milosevic.

– We are currently considering the possibility of expanding the offer with new flavors, while at the same time carefully following the feedback from our customers – eKapija’s interviewee concludes.
