Viscofan expands production of casings for meat-packing industry and hires another 200 workers
Viscofan Koteks, the manufacturer of artificial casings for the meat-packing industry, plans to expand its production in Novi Sad and hire another 200 workers, for which it will receive EUR 400,000 from the state.
Accompanied by Novi Sad Mayor Igor Pavlicic and VIP Fund Director Branislav Bugarski, Vojvodina Prime Minister Dr Bojan Pajtic visited Novi Sad-based Viscofan Koteks, of which owner is Spain's Viscofan SA.
The mother company has invested EUR 45 million in its Serbia-based affiliate since it acquired a majority stake in Koteks in 2005.
Pajtic pointed to the significance of that investment rescuing the factory that had been out of work for six years in the 1990's.
Novi Sad Mayor Igor Pavlicic reminded that every investor who invested over EUR 1 million and hired new workers was entitled to a 50% discount on public utility equipment.
- The city has done it now, and it will also do it in the future - said the mayor of Novi Sad.
