Gasic also attended the signing of the agreement between the Ministry of Defense and the Prvi Partizan factory on the procurement of products of that Uzice-based factory for the equipping of the Serbian Armed Forces, the Government of Serbia announced on its website.
The agreement was signed by the representative of the Sector for Material Resources, Colonel Dragan Panic, on behalf of the Ministry of Defense, and the general manager of Prvi Partizan, Dobrosav Andric.
The defense minister pointed to the nearly 96-year-long tradition of Prvi Partizan and added that, thanks to the constant investments, the factory had developed, expanding its capacities and upgrading its production processes.
According to him, the opening of the new hall of Prvi Partizan is another indicator that the top state and military officials are putting in the effort in the further development of the defense industry.
During yesterday’s visit, Gasic talked to the management of the factory and the representatives of the relevant trade unions about the operations of the company, the plans for new investments and the development process that would contribute to an increase in the capacities of ammunition production.
