It has once again been proven that Serbia lies on enormous reserves of gold, silver and copper – in the same day, three companies which are already searching for gold and other precious metals in our country announced new discoveries and a continuation of the explorations.

The Australian Strickland Metals, which recently jointed the numerous “gold hunters” in Serbia by buying the Rogozna project near Novi Pazar, has discovered a new mineralization on this Serbian mountain, this time in Medanovac.

As reported by the Sydney Morning Herald, the latest drill campaign has thrown up a sizeable 223 m intersection grading 1.7 g/t gold equivalent from 179 m including 43 m at 4.6 g/t gold equivalent from 357 m.

On a relative basis, the company has judged the latest intersection to be the third best result from the 36 holes so far plunged into the prospect.

The latest step out diamond hole was drilled 60 m to the southeast of the original Medenovac discovery hole which hit 352 m at 2.1 g/t gold equivalent from 240 m including 97 m grading 5.1 g/t gold equivalent.

And at the other end of Serbia, in the Timok Valley, the Canadian Electrum Discovery, formerly Medgold Resources, has also announced results from rock-chip sampling carried across various targets at its Timok East copper-gold project. The company says in its press release that the latest findings have identified multiple gold mineralizations near the Veliki Krivelj site near Bor.

High-grade copper-gold mineralization has been confirmed 3 kilometers north of the Bambino anomaly. Notable assay results include grades of 14.2 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 3.35 g/t gold, with copper-gold-bearing rocks showing samples of 4.93 g/t gold and 0.57% copper, and 2.62 g/t gold and 1.21% copper.

Previously unidentified silver potential along the same geological structure, from 9 to 71 g/t, has also been uncovered.

Electrum plans to conduct more detailed mapping and additional sampling to further delineate the extent of mineralization, reports stockhouse.com.

Another Canadian company, Mundoro, which also does explorations in Timok, has announced that it has advanced five prospective target areas within its South Timok Trstenik project near the Majdnapek mine.

Mundoro announces that it has submitted permit applications for drill locations across the five target areas, where they expect to find gold, copper and molybdenum, and which they anticipate will be granted by the end of 2024.
