At the grand old age of 120, Hazi Abdul Noor has married for the second time and become the world’s oldest bridegroom.

Mr Noor claims he is 120 although his age in the voter list is 116. Six years after his first wife died, he has tied the knot again with Samoi Bibi, 60, in the village of Satghori in North-East India.

Despite looking relatively fresh-faced for someone who has been a centenarian for 20 years, he presides over a family of 122 - including two sons, four daughters and a lot of grandchildren.

His son, Hazi Azir Uddin, said: "Soon after my mother's death, my father requested us to find him another wife who would look after him. It was not an easy job to find a bride for 100-year-old. However, by the grace of God, we have found a new mother, though she's half his age."

Five hundred guests attended the wedding in the sleepy village in the state of Assam.
