In cooperation with BEAM Global, on the Premium Parking P1 of the Belgrade Airport, five solar stations with 10 chargers for electric vehicles, independent of the power grid (off-grid), have been installed. Each solar station can simultaneously fill the batteries of two vehicles.
Belgrade Airport CEO Chivoine Rem said that charging vehicle batteries with solar devices was an important step toward the goal of having net zero CO2 emissions by 2050.
CEO of Beam Global Desmond Wheatley said that “airports represent a tremendous opportunity for sustainable infrastructure solutions, and with this sponsorship model and our zero construction deployments, we are opening doors for similar engagements in major travel hubs throughout the world.”
– This solution secures the charging of vehicle batteries in a clean and reliable manner, without the use of electrical energy, as a response to the growing demand and the improvement of passenger experience in Belgrade – he said.
