Top vineyards owned by celebrities
It seems that world celebrities have found themselves a new hobby - viticulture. Namely, since many of them are real wine lovers, they have decided to start making their own wine. For that purpose they have bought vineyards across Spain and France.
(Napa Valley, Spain - proprietors: David and Victoria Beckham)
Soccer star David Beckham and his wife Victoria allegedly became devoted oenophiles while living in Spain from 2003 to 2007, when Beckham played for Real Madrid before signing with the Los Angeles Galaxy club. Lucky for them, wine-rich Napa Valley is just a short plane ride away from L.A., where the couple has lived since 2008. To commemorate the move, David bought his wife her very own vineyard in the region, run by a team of specialists. During a weekend trip to the winery, Becks surprised Victoria with a bottle of red with her name on the label.
(South France, proprietor: Kejt Mos)
After visiting the south of France and tasting several wines of the region, the British supermodel Kate Moss has bought a vineyard in France, worth more than $200,000, for her husband Jamie Hince. Kate is planning on naming the wine after herself and has even suggesting using a Merlot grape to produce the inaugural Vin de Mossot.
(Provence, proprietors: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie)
While touring abroad, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were delighted with the beauties of South France. The rumor says Angelina went from door to door, asking if one of the estates was for sale. After an exhausting search, she found a vivid property with a huge vineyard. It is Château Val Joanis, a 1,000-acre estate and vineyard in Provence, which is in sympathy with their green philosophies. The Château has its own olive orchard and makes olive oils as well as wine.
(St. Tropez, southeast France, proprietor: Vanessa Paradis)
Although the vineyard is actually owned by Vanessa Paradis, she's got this estate as a gift from her long-time boyfriend Johnny Depp. An interesting fact is that the famous actor loves wines from the region of Bordeaux and that some of the world's top wines come from this part of France.
