Germany's ThyssenKrupp not interested in steelworks in Smederevo

The German steelmaker ThyssenKrupp is not interested in buying the Smederevo steel mill, people at that company confirmed to Blic daily on Wednesday. At the same time, the Serbian government announced that Ukraine's tycoon Rinat Akhmetov was definitely one of the investors interested in the acquisition of the state-owned company in Smederevo.

- We are definitely not interested in acquiring that steelworks - Erwin Schneider, president of ThyssenKrupp for Europe, told Blic daily when asked if they intended to buy the steel mill in Smederevo.
