Zemun-Borca bridge to be completed until end of 2014
City Manager Aleksandar Bjelic visited the building site of the Zemun-Borca bridge and promised on that occasion that the works would be finished on schedule, that is, until the end of 2014. While touring the site accompanied by Sye Que Juo, representative of the Chinese company CBRC, he pointed out that the City was satisfied with the way in which the works were being executed by that Chinese company and with their quality, as well as with domestic contractors engaged in that project.
He reiterated once again that the Zemun-Borca bridge would be the third brand new bridge built in Belgrade in the last six years.
- Apart from Chinese workers, local contractors are also engaged in the project, and they have already started preparation works on access roads on the side of Palilula. What is left to be done is to build roads on the side of Zemun, about 190 meters of access bridge to enable the construction of the main bridge, and to set up a pylon 78 meters high for the main pillar. We have successfully resolved the problem of displacement of 64 families on the side of Zemun - rekao je Bijelić.
Syue Que Juo, representative of the Chinese company CBRC, stressed that the bridge construction had not been discontinued even in the worst weather conditions and expressed gratitude to the City of Belgrade and the City Building Land and Development Directorate for their support.
