China's NEC to renovate Marakana football stadium - Agreement to be signed on April 26th

China's NEC and Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) football club will sign a preliminary agreement on the construction of a new stadium this Thursday.

The Chinese company should be the contractor for the renovation work on Serbia's biggest stadium, which should get a very modern look in few years.

This project was first presented in 2009, when a Portuguese company was announced as the contractor.

According to the current plan, all stands at the stadium will be fully covered with roof featuring solar panels that will generate electricity. The stadium will also comprise about 10,000 square meters of office space and the offices of Crvena Zvezda Sports Club.
