Spatial plan of Fruška Gora-Neštin to become ethno-village until 2006 - marina, pier, fishermen's center
Bačka Palanka is one of rare municipalities in Vojvodina with territories in both Bačka and Srem, and Neštin and Vizić are two villages that are specially included in the spatial plan of Fruška Gora. Parliament of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina made that plan in June 2004 and it will last until 2022. Among the rest, that document regulates what municipalities that are located on the territory of special purpose of Fruška Gora should do.
By Spatial plan Neštin was proclaimed one of the main territories for development of fruit growing and viticulture, and it is expected that this municipality will soon be equal to Irig and Sremski Karlovci. Neštin is one of five destinations along the Danube where piers, marinas for yachts and boats and fishermen's center should be built. In both villages of Municipality of Bačka Palanka, which are settled on the last hillsides of Fruška Gora towards right bank of the Danube, the construction of special capacities intended for exclusive sale and distribution of the products characteristic for area of Srem, such as wine, honey, milk, dairy products, teas and medical herbs, is in the pipeline.
Spatial plan implies laying of optical telecommunications cables from Beočin to Neštin and from Neštin to Vizić, 28 km long, as well as better supply of Vizić with electric power from Divoš and Stara Bingula. The tourism is one of the chance for development of both villages, especially Neštin, because it is located in the key tourist zones of Spatial plan of Fruška Gora. The most ambitious part of spatial plan of Fruška Gora is an idea that Neštin should be turned to ethno-village with educative museum and it already has genuine Srem's house dating from 18th century. Preliminary project must be elaborated until 2006, whereas complete works should be realized prior to 2012. Neštin, as one of the centers of rural and wine tourism, should provide lodging to the visitors in tourist facilities or in existing and adapted village houses. (www.fruskagora.co.yu)
