BNP Paribas Group makes its presence in Serbia official - Findomestic Banka plans to boost lending to economy

Findomestic Banka has changed its visual identity to make official the presence of BNP Paribas Group in Serbia, which is one of the world's largest and safest banking groups with a secure capital base, the bank announced Tuesday.

Findomestic Banka has been operating in Serbia since early 2006. It became a fully-owned subsidiary of BNP Paribas Group in 2011, when the latter also took over the management of that bank in Serbia.

- We will continue to develop as an universal bank whose operations are based on two key segments - corporate services and retail services, including retail lending - said BNP Paribas Group's Regional Representative Patrick Collin.

- In addition to a support to further development of Findomestic Banka's business segments, the active presence of BNP Paribas Group represents an additional value for clients, both citizens and companies, because it will contribute to the enhancement of quality of banking services, as well as an additional value for the banking market of Serbia because a good international business practice will be introduced - he added.

Findomestic Banka will continue to develop and improve the quality of retail products and services, including retail lending, as still the only specialized bank in the market.

- The decision of BNP Paribas, one of the world's best ranked and biggest banking groups, to strengthen its presence through further development of operations in Serbia confirms this group's committment to the local market - said Vladimir Markovic, member of the Executive Board of Findomestic Banka.

BNP Paribas Group operates in 80 countries worldwide and has about 200,000 employees, over 150,000 of whom in Europe. It kept making profits even during the years of crisis. The group's revenue in Q1 2012 amounted to EUR 2.9 billion, up by 9.6% from Q1 2011.
