EDB to invest 5 mil EUR in overhaul of the high-voltage station 'Belgrade 13' in Vozdovac
The record in the consumption of electricity was broken last winter in the capital city, which is one of the reasons why "Power Distribution Belgrade" has started with earlier overhaul of all older power station installations, but also with routine maintenance of around 400 new stations, which were built in the last two years.
Until the new heating season, fitters and electricians from the company of EDB, must inspect and repair if necessary 16 592 kilometers of cables and 6453 power stations. The prime business is the restoration of one of the most powerful EDB's high-voltage stations "Belgrade 13" in Vozdovac, but also refurbishment of slightly weaker voltage stations in Surcin and New Belgrade.
- Overhaul of Vozdovac plant will cost 5 million euros. These investments will provide the entire supply of the new settlement "4 July", and more. For the stations of "Surčin" and "New Belgrade 1" we will have to set aside one million euros for each. The problem is that most power stations are old over four decades, and "patching" is not enough, but in addition we have to build entirely new plants - said Stevan Milicevic, General Manager of EDB.
EDB along with "Elektroizgradnja" has been doing overhaul since March, of the more updated and obsolete station in Street of Vojvode Stepa No. 422, which supplies entire Vozdovac. It will be modernized, and will be completely changed in appearance.
