Loop access to Pancevo Bridge in the fall 2012 - Contruction of new traffic artery to start July 14

The Directorate for Construction Land and Construction from Belgrade announced that next Saturday, July 14, 2012 the construction of new Pancevo bridge loop would start and that as of that moment till the construction works end, the access construction to the bridge from Dragoslav Sredojevic Street would be closed.

As it has been said, the access to the Pancevo Bridge will be possible, as it has been up till now, from the Despot Stefan Boulevard from both directions.

New loop is built in order to prevent from direct intersection of cars turning left form the Despot Stefan Boulevard to Pancevo Bridge and cars traveling from Visnjicka Street to city center. New circle ramp will be constructed and a part of the existing access bridge construction in a direction to Pancevo will be renovated.

The first construction works phase, in a direction to Visnjica from the city center, along the right side of the Despot Stefan Boulevard, two traffic lanes of 375 meters will be upgraded. They will be an access to a new ramp. In this part of the Despot Stefan Boulevard, a new bus stop will be built and after that another lane for vehicles turning left to Mijo Kovacevic Street will be constructed.

The raised ramp enabling vehicles to access Pancevo Bridge is seven meters wide and has one traffic and one stopping lane. It is 200 meters longs and it will mostly be built at the embankment while construction will connect it to the bridge. It is necessary to pull down and replace bridge construction 88 meters long because of this new incoming connection.

The construction of a new denivelated crossroads will prevent from further crossing at the left turning to Pancevo Bridge and thus increase traffic participants’ safety while the Despot Stefan Boulevard will be open for vehicle circulation coming from city center to Visnjica.

As of July 14, at 6 o’ clock till the construction works end, the access to Pancevo Bridge through Dragoslav Sredojevic Street, an access construction1, will be halted. An access to Pancevo Bridge will be enabled from Despot Stefan Street, both directions. As of July 20, from 10 o’ clock p.m. till July 23, six o’clock a.m. during the access bridge construction taking down, traffic through Despot Stefan Street towards Pancevo Bridge from city center will be stopped while vehicles moving from Visnjicka direction through Despot Stefan Street will be enabled access to the bridge by the right turning. The traffic from city center direction to Pancevo Bridge will be redirected to Dragoslav Sredojevic Street, through the circle knot, via Mijo Kovacevic Street to Despot Stefan Street and the right turning to the bridge. There will be no changes in traffic from Pancevo direction. As of July 23 at six o’clock, till the construction works end, traffic will be possible from Despot Stefan Street, both directions.
