Vucic - Minister of Defense, Mrkic - the Chief of Diplomacy, Knezevic - the Minister of Agriculture - Constitution of new government familiar
On Sunday, July 22, 2012, the Executive Board of the Serbian Progressive Party confirmed the list of candidates for new Serbian Government, among which the leader of the party, Aleksandar Vucic, proposed for the first vice president in charge of defense and security and anti- corruption and criminal issues and he will also be the Minister of Defense.
The candidate of the party for the Ministry of External Affairs is a career diplomat, ex ambassador in Japan and state secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, Ivan Mrkic.
The Government will have 17 resources and 19 members.
After the meeting of the executive board, Vucic said that Nebojsa Stefanovic was proposed to be the President of the Assembly and Jana Ljubicic, the Secretary General.
Nikola Selakovic is the candidate for the Ministry of Justice and governmental administration, Goran Knezevic for agriculture, forestry and water engineering, Zorana Mihajlovic for energetic, development and environmental protection and Branislav Petkovic for culture, information and diaspora.
The Serbian Progressive Party proposed Milan Bacevic for the Ministry of Mining, Natural Resources and Spatial Planning and Alisa Maric for the Youth and Sports resources.
Vucic said that during election, attention was paid to gender also so that there were two women among their eight candidates.
He considers proposed candidates to form serious and good team and that they would do their best to make better life for Serbian citizen.
Vucic also expressed regretting because some political parties put their interest before the interest of Serbia, as he said.
Ashe announced, new government will consist of the ministry of the internal affairs, finance and trade, regional development and local self-governance, traffic, construction and town planning, labor and social politics, internal and external trade, telecommunications and information society.
New Government will also have ministries of health, education and science.
Vucic said that the talks over new government almost finished, that the Serbian Progressive Party would make majority and that he expected that party to be "the engine of the government" and to cooperate well with other coalition partners.
