Nebojsa Stefanovic elected Serbian Assembly President

Today, the Serbian Progressive Party candidate, Nebojsa Stefanovic, has been elected president of the Assembly of Serbia with 142 votes.
A total of 48 members from the opposition Democratic Party and the Liberal Democratic Party, while 15 members of the Democratic Party of Serbia were reserved. A total of 205 members voted. Voting for Stefanovic was public and was carried out by polling. Member of parties constituting new government – the Serbian Progressive Party, the Socialist Party of Serbia, the United Regions of Serbia, Socio-Democratic Party of Serbia headed by Rasim Ljajic, and Democratic Action Party run by Sulejman Ugljanin supported the election of Stefanovic.
Members from the Party of Vojvodina Hungarians, as well as the chairmen of the constitutional meeting, Zaharije Trnavcevic from the Rich Serbia movement, who joined the parliamentarian majority last week voted for the election of Stefanovic.
The Serbian Progressive Party leader, Aleksandar Vucic, said he was proud of suggesting educated, young, decisive and patient man for this position.
Along with the resume facts, Vucic added that Stefanovic would primary stick to the constitution and law, adding the Serbian Progressive Party fought for that.
- Our job is to control the executive authority and we will help him there in the best way possible – Vucic said.
