VUCIC: New arms factory by year-end
(Aleksandar Vucic)
First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Aleksandar Vucic said today that a new factory for manufacturing complex combat systems would be opened in Serbia by the year's end, adding that Russia would help the placement of products of Serbia’s defense industry.
At the end of his visit to Moscow, where he spoke with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, Vucic said that as of Monday, our experts would start making programs and models of cooperation between Serbia and Russia in that field, noting that he expected that to give good results.
- Our goal, which we will certainly achieve, is to open by the end of the year a new factory for producing complex combat systems, similar to the former factory Djura Djakovic. In order to do this, we have to be sure that our products will be sold worldwide, and in this we count on Russia’s help - Vucic told reporters at the Serbian embassy in Moscow.
Vucic added that Russian loans and investments in Serbia had also been discussed during the meetings he had had in Moscow, stressing that more about that matter would be known in the first half of September.
