Construction of EUR 350 million worth of hydroelectric power stations on the Ibar to start in mid-2013

Serbian Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic and President of the Maccaferri Group Gaetano Maccaferri reached an agreement on the construction of EUR 350 million worth of ten small hydropower plants on the Ibar river, it was announced on the Serbian government's website.
Dacic pointed out that that was the first part of a EUR 2 billion strategic project to build hydroelectric power plants in the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska.
The officials pointed out that that was a regional project, the largest of its kind in Europe, which was being implemented through strategic partnerships between Italia's Seci Energia, the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) and the Republic of Srpska.
Dacic and Maccaferri also pointed out that the planned construction of hydroelectric power plants on the Ibar and Drina would be performed by domestic companies.
